    Tea Party!
Sorry I am a little late in posting this.

Same place as last time. For those that missed it before, the Griffin is the triangular pub at the top of Christmas steps.

    Anyone doing anything this halloween?
    So...

Am I completely out of the loop (Heaven forbid) or is there nothing going on in Bristol for Halloween?

I was going to come back from Whitby to be in Bristol for Halloween, but if there is nothing on then I might not rush back.

Shock Horror, two posts in two days
Thought I should do my bit to advertise the next '42nd Steet' cinema night (formerly 'The Hell with Hollywood) seeing as due to the lack of numbers, the next one is going to be the last one.

For those that don't know, 42nd St is a grindhouse cinema night at the Cube Cinema. The place has a great atmosphere, and a bar (which helps)

The next one is a double feature 'Whatever happened to Dracula' and 'Dracula Dirty Old Man'

    Monday 9th July
Cube Cinema, Stokes Croft (BS2 8JB)
Doors open at around 8.00 and entry is £3 emembers, £4 non-members

    TANKS
It was pointed out to me that I hardly ever update my journal. So

Su and Daves wedding was fab, everyone looked gorgeous and they seemed so happy I nearly blubbed.

Tank paintball was great, I'd reccomend it to anyone. I have to admit I was a bit nervous, never having driven anything at all in my life and then being put in one of these

and driving it around while my crew shot paintballs

    Rosetta Stone Tour?
Rosetta Stone have started a poll on thier myspace account ( http://www.myspace.com/undertherosettastone ) to help them decide if they should go on tour, and where they should go.

Bristol is very low on votes at the moment, so I thought I'd advertise the poll a bit more and see if it gets us anywhere. Click on the big yellow button on the right.

Somebody left fish blood in my lab
Why are some people unable to clean up after themselves. I don't share my lab with many people but one of them left me the delightful gift of vials and fish blood and bloody pipette tips. I think they have been there quite a few weeks. Nice.

I really must write here more often
I never remember to write here. Doesn't make for an interesting diary does it?

Wednesday was good fun. Went to watch Tom DJ at the Eclipse. Also started to flyer people for Insidious. I think the flyer design went down with Tom, and apparently his flyer design is very similar but more 'Industrial' So great minds really do think alike.

Went to Deaf club last night, which was fun. But shocking just how out of practise I am. Still, I feel a bit more with it again today.

The pub had a new Barmaid which was quite funny, when it came to leaving time she came up to the crowd and very quitely and very politly said (to the backs of peoples heads) 'Excuse me, could you please leave now' after doing this for a while and getting no response she called over to the other barman 'what do I do? How can I get them to leave?' I'm not sure why she thought quietly asking would help.

Talking of noise, I need to get my head around signing and listening, I just can't seem to do both at once. I was signing away when an announcement came over the tannoy and I just stopped completely waiting for it to finish in the same way you stop talking during something very loud. My poor brain.

Sewing projects are going slowly but steadily. The 'To Do' list seems to be growing faster than the rate I can sew. I seem to have agreed (Without remembering) to make medieval dresses for some of the other people coming to Joust (you guys know who you are) and I completely forgot until this morning.

    Smudgy
Have you ever seen people that wear lots of thick purposfully smudged eyeliner? I was sitting next to some-one sporting the panda look last night in a club. Every 10-15 minutes he had to check his eyeliner in the mirror. Why? What can you be checking for?

I should really post some stuff here
Its been a while and I really feel I should write something in my livejournal. Just a short thing about me.

Lady of the Dead is the username I use for most internet things, I realise now that I am Lady of the Dea on livejournal but seeing as there is already a Ladyofthedead I might just leave it this way.

I am a plant biologist (it is different to a botanist) and am currently working towards a PhD in the evolution of stress responses in plants.

Things currently eating up my time are:-

Parties:- I love going to clubs meeting lots of pretty goths and dancing, I especially love whitby gothic weekend (England) which has me going back time and time again

Sewing:- Self taught but slowly improving I love to sew. I mainly sew clothing but have recently developed a love of bags and umbrellas.

Wine making:- Great fun, but a time consuming hobby, wine can take a year to make and once you mention you are making a batch people expect thier free samples within a few weeks.

Sign Language:- Not sure this counts as a hobby, languages are great, its hard to understand the quirks in your own language until you start trying to learn another. I think I'd still class myself in the 'trying' section when it comes to learning. I was hpoing to take classes to learn level 2 BSL but it fell through :( I still get conversational practise which is much more fun.

Roleplay:- No not that type, Dungeons and Dragons is my favourite but it really depends on who is running it. I have been playing for a number of years and its quite sad how attched you can get to your characters.
